Hello community

My name is Alejandro Montossi. I am 35 years old and I am an audio technician, music producer, and luthier. I live and work in the Maldonado department, Uruguay.

I have been playing guitar since the age of 12, and at 19 I began my training as a luthier’s apprentice, specializing in instrument building and restoration.

Later, I studied audio engineering and worked for more than ten years in live sound and music production, which allowed me to gain a deep understanding of musicians’ real needs and to shape the vision behind this project.

Additionally, I worked in musical instrument stores, where I gained hands-on experience in understanding what makes an instrument reliable, durable, and truly worth it.

Our Story

Rekithara began in 2022 as an experimental project focused on exploring the limits of recycled materials applied to musical instruments.

Rekithara – 1st Generation:

The first-generation prototype featured:

  • 100% recycled polypropylene body

  • Cellulose acetate pickguard

  • Maple neck

This instrument marked the starting point of the project, allowing for the first studio tests and practical evaluation under real playing conditions, both in clean and distorted tones.

These initial trials provided key insights into the sound, playing feel, and material behavior.

Evolving identity. Refined design.

One year after the first prototype,

Rekithara moved forward with a clearer design language and improved construction standards.

This new stage integrates high-quality solid woods, refined ergonomics, and more balanced proportions, directly influenced by everything learned through real-world testing and a continuous process of iteration.

Each new model represents an evolution—not a reset—building upon accumulated experience rather than replacing it.

AMONER – 1st Generation:

Lightweight and highly versatile, the first-generation AMONER introduced the project’s short-scale philosophy and was our first model designed entirely from scratch.

Its reduced scale length and compact body made it:

  • more agile

  • more comfortable

  • easier to transport

An ideal instrument for young musicians, traveling artists, or anyone seeking a smooth, responsive playing feel without sacrificing character or personality.
